Interview With Q-Towne — New Single King
1.How would you describe your musical style?
If I had to describe my musical style in as few words as possible; it would have to be: Raw Conscious Punchline Hip-Hop. So in other words… just a whole lot of BARS. I like to think outside of the box to find the most clever way of saying whatever it is that I’m trying to say.
2. What is the first album you owned?
The first album I ever owned, and can remember listening to constantly, was Kriss Kross: Totally Crossed Out. I was obsessed with that album. I would even put my clothes on backward and perform the songs like I was the third member of the group.
3. How do you prepare before going up on stage?
Before I go on stage, I like to prepare myself by doing a brief meditation; where I reflect on my journey, and how exactly I made it to that particular point. I thank God for the journey, and all of the lessons that come with it. I thank him for his light, and ask him to, please, continue to let his light shine through me. And then I reassure myself that no-matter what happens, it shall be according to God’s will. And I finish with a deep breath and a smile.
4. If we’re going to buy you a drink, what should it be?
Either Hen & Coke or Coke & Crown. To be honest… almost anything…
