Interview With Certified Platinum Producer Docondabeat
Hey Doc, how did you first get into making music?
“I’ve been doing music for as long as i can remember honestly. I was born in Long Island and grew up in Astoria projects and that’s where I discovered I like music.”
Doc, do you have any other nicknames or names in the music industry?
“Everyone knows me as D.O.C., docondabeat, or D.O.”
When did you make your first song?
“In 8th grade I rapped and produced my first song and that’s where the image we know today as docondabeat sprouted. First I was Yung Doc, which then somehow turned to Doc, to D.O.C.. In high school my tag on all my songs was “D.O.C. On the beat” and after listening to my songs all my friends would come up to me like “ayo doc on da beat” and so my music persona was born. Na and also a small fact about me most people don’t know is that i actually have my degree in music business.”
Some people don’t know who you are and what you have accomplished. Why don’t you tell everyone the 3 biggest records you’ve worked on?
“Just to name a few I’ve produced and have gained over 150 million views on records I’ve produced on YouTube alone, some of the more popular records are “Need Me — 108M+”, “Painless — 14M” & “Letter 2 U — 4M+”
